Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream butter brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Mix in vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate bowl whisk flour baking soda salt and cinnamon.
  7. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture.
  8. Stir in oats and raisins.
  9. Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto prepared baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  11. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

  • Use old-fashioned oats for the best chewy texture.
  • Soak raisins in warm water for 10 minutes for extra softness.
  • Do not overbake for a soft, chewy center.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
