Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips optional
  • ½ cup cream cheese softened (for frosting drizzle)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter with sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Fold in white chocolate chips if using.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  9. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. Drizzle or top with softened cream cheese if desired once cookies are cooled.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking to enhance texture and color intensity.
