Method
- Beat the softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Add the softened butter and beat until fully combined and fluffy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing on low speed.
- Add vanilla extract and salt and beat until smooth and creamy.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix again until light and fluffy.
- Spread or pipe onto completely cooled cakes or cupcakes
Notes
- Make sure cream cheese and butter are fully softened to avoid lumps.
- For thicker frosting, add more powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time.
- For a thinner consistency, add 1–2 teaspoons of milk.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
