Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the dish.
- Sprinkle with half the garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Pour half of the cream over the layer.
- Sprinkle half of the Parmesan on top.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, garlic, cream, and Parmesan.
- Optional: top with breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.
- Let cool 5 minutes before serving.

- Use Yukon Gold potatoes for a creamy texture; feel free to add cooked bacon or herbs for extra flavor.
