Crave-Worthy Puerto Rican Quesitos Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package puff pastry thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp sugar for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles.
  4. Spoon cream cheese mixture onto each rectangle.
  5. Fold pastry over filling and seal edges.
  6. Brush each quesito with beaten egg.
  7. Sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or a drizzle of dulce de leche on top.
