Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until a dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into small balls and flatten slightly.
  6. Use clean wooden clothespins to press a crisscross pattern onto each cookie.
  7. Place cookies on a lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Notes

  • Make sure clothespins are clean and lightly floured to prevent sticking.
