Ingredients
  

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  3. In a bowl, mix corn syrup, melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  4. Stir in pecans and pour mixture over chocolate chips in the crust.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes or until the center is set and top is golden brown.
  6. Cool completely before slicing to allow filling to set.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use dark chocolate chips.
  • To prevent crust burning, cover edges with foil if browning too quickly.
  • Pie can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
